The scenery in South Africa is as varied as it is dramatic. Rolling plains, majestic mountains, vast deserts, lush subtropical forests and golden beaches offer diversity to rival anywhere on the African continent. The variety of wildlife is a special attraction – the Kruger National Park supports more varieties of wildlife than any other park in Africa. Numerous smaller parks offer opportunities to view game at close quarters rarely rivaled elsewhere.


South Africa has diverse cultures. It has a dynamic fusion of African, European and Asian influences, South Africa is a hotbed of originality and creativity. Evidence of this can be seen in there music, which ranges from indigenous township rave music, known as kwaito, to world-renowned African jazz by such legendary talents as Hugh Masekela and Miriam Makeba. Theatre to is an important part of the culture, ranging from the classics to drama, dance and comedy. A range of galleries, shops, studios and street side stalls exhibit traditional African art as well as contemporary fine art.

South Africa has a free-market economy, and offers the visitor irresistible bargains. Be it something in gold and diamond (tax-free) at the country's top shopping "palace", the Waterfront in Cape Town, or a small thing from a roadside hawker, the current rend value leans heavily in your favor….
