Day 2 Christchurch / Tranz Alpine / Greymouth / Franz Josef Breakfast. Checkout of your hotel and transfer to the Christchurch Railway Station in time to board the Tranz Alpine Express for a scenic rail journey across the spectacular Arthurs Pass to Greymouth on the West Coast. On arrival at Greymouth, transfer to Franz Josef Glacier traveling via Hokitika, Ross and Harihari, arriving at Franz Josef in the Late afternoon. Check-in to your hotel. Hotel : Franz Josef Glacier Hotel x 2 nights

Day 3 Franz Josef Breakfast. Depart for a half day guided tour to the face of the glacier. The afternoon is at leisure to explore this stunning region of New Zealand. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 4 Franz Josef - Queenstown Breakfast. Travel south through rugged Haast Pass to arrive at "alpine resort" of Queenstown. Evening return transfers to local restaurant for dinner. Over night at the hotel. Hotel : A Line Hotel x 2 nights

Day 5 Queenstown - Milford Sound - Queenstown Depart for a full day excursion to the Milford Sound. Depart Queenstown and follow the shores of Lake Wakatipu beneath the towering Remarkables mountain range before traveling over the sheep dotted Southland Plains to Te Anau set on the shores of the lake by the same name, at the gateway to the Fiordland National Park, now proclaimed a World Heritage Park. Travel across open plains and native Beech Forests before the landscape changes dramatically to the glaciated U shape valleys. Descend the steep Homer Tunnel to the spectacular scenery of Milford Sound. Take a cruise out to the open sea and enjoy a buffet lunch while you watch Dolphins, Seals and Penguins as well as mighty waterfalls before returning to Queenstown, arriving in the late afternoon. Rest of the evening is at leisure. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 6 Queenstown - Mount Cook - Christchurch Breakfast. Checkout of your hotel and transfer to Christchurch. Travel north once more through the Kawarau Gorge to Cromwell and across Lake Dunstan before climbing over the Lindis Pass and into the Mackenzie High Country and the township of Omarama. Continue towards Mount Cook National Park following the shores of Lake Pukaki. Subject to the weather on the day, there is an opportunity to take an optional scenic flight over the mountains with a snow landing on the Tasman Glacier in a ski plane. ( We recommend SPA1 a 40 minute flight.) Continue on to Lake Tekapo and descend the Burkes pass to Fairlie, Geraldine, and across the flat Canterbury plains to the Garden City of Christchurch once more.
